Uniquely made with Belgian Candi sugar, this beer is dark, malt-forward, with notes of caramelized sugar, raisins and plums. Originally brewed to celebrate the arrival of our twin girls, this beer is strong and sweet just like them

Since Belgian dubbel is such a rare style around these parts, I skipped the pumpkin stout I was gonna buy and grabbed a sixer of this. And man was that a good choice.
This could be and probably is the best dubbel I've ever had. The yeast is quintessential, the caramelized Candi sugar is lovely, and the malty body is rock solid.
And tho I've had their beers before, this is the first one I've reviewed, and there are very few of their beers listed at all.
That's gonna change, as they've made a new friend with me. This gem of San Antonio brewing will be on my list again and again.
Viva San Antonio for its awesome beer scene!
After note: since posting this review, I have bought two more sixers of this beer. Thus I stand by my very high rating

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
