Located right on the main drag of downtown CdA, it's also open a bit later than some of the others. Very quiet on this Thursday night. Dimly lit, gave off a library vibe. Vinyl was spinning behind the bar, some old bossa nova that added to the feel. The vibe fit my mood at the time, as I was winding down a long day of brewery hopping.

Small store front brewery on the main drag downtown. L-shaped bar to the left of the entrance seats about a dozen with a few additional tables about the room. Only 2 house beers and about 16, mostly local guests. Bith their beers were solid and interesting. Friendly, knowledgeable bartender. Live music nightly, old school record player by day.

I visited Chalice Brewing while passing through Coeur d'Alene a few weeks back. It's a small but welcoming place, with a few booths and tables and a really nice bar. It's got a handsome look with brick walls, exposed wooden beams, and wooden furnishings. I sat up at the bar and had a good conversation with the bartender.

They only had three of their own beers on tap on my visit: a dunkel lager, a hoppy pilsner, and an Earl Gray ESB. Besides that, they had about a dozen guest taps. I enjoyed each of them, although I think the dunkel lager was my favorite of the bunch. I'm hoping they have a few more taps to offer the next time I find myself in Coeur d'Alene!

neat little spot right on the main drag in downtown, not sure what was in here before, but the space seems to be perfect for a little taproom. its long and narrow, with the bar up front on the left under a shorter ceiling than the rest of the space, which almost looks like an old gallery or venue space. the brewing equipment is hidden away in the back of it, but its got a great feel. a record player and a bunch of records, i think they kind of take requests all the time, a neat arrangement. they also have local art on the walls from one of the galleries near by, so its eclectic and interesting inside, exposed brick, a little sparse on the furniture, but still comfortable. they have just a handful of their own beers on, maybe four when we were in, and a mess of guest taps. i like how they served theirs in chalices, makes sense with the name. we had a very robust irish type stout and a mexican amber lager, both solid, neither epic, but unique enough to be fun and somewhat professional in terms of execution. the service was awesome, friendly and fun, but we were pretty much the only ones in on a weekday afternoon. i think its neat how much the scene has grown up here, and its little spots like this that make it fun. artsy and clever inside, tasty and diverse beer menu even if they rely on a lot of guest beers, a humble operation but a neat spot to check out when in the area, we had a blast in here!
