Wild Barley Kitchen & Brewery "Safety Meeting"
16 fl. oz. can seemingly without production codes or freshness dating
Note via stream of consciousness: It's poured a hazy golden-orange body beneath a short head of white foam. The aroma is resinous and fruity over a lightly sweetish and bready malt base. The taste is much fuller than the aroma lets on and I can tell immediately that we're dealing with some Galaxy hops, and most likely Citra. I'm getting an almost oil-like and "dank" note from the Galaxy, and fruity notes of mango, passion fruit, peach, orange, lime, and grapefruit. It's also herbal, earthy, and piney and woody, and now I'm also finding some papaya in the aftertaste. You might as well throw some apple and a little bit of pineapple in there as well - it's a very complex fruity/hoppy IPA. There's some clear bitterness to it, but not too much, and the alcohol has a presence even at just 6.5% ABV, keeping it mainly dry in the finish along with a light touch of "hop burn". In the mouth it's medium bodied, and perhaps a bit fuller feeling than it actually is due to all of the extra proteins from oats and wheat. It's crisp with a standard carbonation. All in all this is a heavy hitter. You cannot taste this without noticing the hop wallop, and that will most blast of flavor will likely keep coming back to you in burps even if it doesn't stick on your palate. I wish I had more of this.
