This rich, round and smooth ale has flavours of roast coffee, chocolate and smoke. It is brewed with oats to create a silky smooth texture and a firm body.

Had on my 2011 annual visit to Vancouver.
Pours black with a two finger brown creamy head that seems to last forever. Quite an impressive start.
Aroma of dark chocolate dominates.
Taste of dark chocolate, dark malts with a decent amount of bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lightly cleansing. Somewhat lifeless.
Overall, it is drinkable and worth a try.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Not as dry as it could have been. Lots of roastiness coming through the nitro. Black with a three-eighths of an inch retained head, creamy looking. Tasting creamy, like a coffee with sugar, though not too sweet. Decent drinkability. Some very good attributes.
