A cold weather game changer of a beer, Embrr is every bit as rich and tasty as its sonorous name suggests. A true wake up call if you haven’t started packing away your Summer whites yet. Embrr (not a typo!) is brewed with a hefty portion of rye and flaked rye to give this smooth porter a rich chocolaty body and hint of spice. Embrr is brewed with 2-Row, Chocolate, Rye, Flaked Rye, Crystal, Roasted Barley, and Sybilla hops.

Dark, brown color . Medium-sized, beige head. The aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and some spices, probably rye effect. Toasted malt, bread, and chocolate in taste. Decent hoppy and roasted bitterness from the beginning till the end.

L - Embrr pours into a chalice the color of a Coke, with a thin 1/2 inch tan head.

S - Spice, ginger, malts, hint of coffee

T - Coffee, roasted/toasted malts, ginger, some hop tang.

F - NIce effervescent quality. Medium body. Balanced texture. Dry.

O - The Ithaca Embrr is a delicious porter. The predominant taste is coffee, but is not an overpowering flavor. This brew is robust without being heavy. It has a lively character, layers of flavor on the palate, and a nice dry finish which, for me, quickens the pace to the next sip.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle which looks to be dated 10-12-15. Sampled March 23, 2016.

The pour is dark brown with some reddish hues and a short-lived off-white head.

The aroma has some classic Porter elements including dark sweet malts and a little barley grain with a low hop profile.

Medium body.

The taste is more on the sweet malty side with a mild bitterness at the end.

dark brown, not quite black. head fades quickly. aroma is roasty, but also herbal, earthy. similar taste, some chocolate. good balance in flavors. body is a bit thin for a porter.
