A: Poured from the can into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Looks like Orange Juice: golden-orange in color, and the word "hazy" doesn't do it justice - it's more pulpy and thick, with a 1.5-finger foamy ivory head on top.

S: Old school San Diego-style IPA nose: big-time citrus (grapefruit, grapefruit rind, orange peel) and a raw, green hoppy-ness that reminds me of the old Green Flash offerings.

T: Pretty much follows the nose, with juicy citrus, a good bit of pineapple, and herbal, leafy hops. Finishes with a touch of pine needle bitterness. Straddles the line between West Coast and NE-style IPAs, with a juicy look and feel, with plenty of fruity sweet up front, but then finishes with a good bitter bite.

M: Call it medium in heft, though there's a slight sense that it's somewhat watery.

O: Quite good. I'm enjoying this one - though it could be because I've been sick for a little while and unable to enjoy good beers, making this one taste like ice cold water in a desert. . . .

Murky orange-amber, like apricot juice, with moderate off-white head and lacing.

Slight smell of grapefruit, plus unidentifiable tropical fruit mix, pie crust (before baking), and resiny/solvent/pine.

Flavor is piney/resin , grapefruit pith, dried pineapple, mixed fruit. Some light bitterness on the finish.

Feel is medium, slightly creamy, with very very fine carbonation on the finish.

Overall not bad, but not standout either. Worth a try .

A 5 Barrel beer from Ithaca. This is a great citrus/tropical IPA. Hopefully Ithaca will include it in the box of hops going forward. It is not as good as Creeker, but still a stand out IPA.
