From a 16 oz. can. No date shown but it was sampled on September 5, 2018.

It pours a hazy and heady light amber color.

The aroma definitely makes me think this is an old can. The stale malts are above and beyond all other sensations. Deep within I pick up a fruity sensation.

The body is smooth and medium-full.

The taste is definitely a stale malt bomb now with very little else. A slight overripe fruit finish. I couldn't finish it.

Ithaca Beer Company "Pulp Addiction"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$4.99 @ Total wine & More, Cherry hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Wow, this is one of the cloudiest beers I've ever seen. It looks like an extra cloudy hefeweizen. It's opaque, and it's hard to discern the color because it's a kind of pastel color, but it's orange-ish, it looks like really pulpy orange juice - I hope that was the intent! The aroma is hoppy/citrusy/tropical with notes of orange, tangerine, mango, and grapefruit as well as a bit of hop resin. There might even be some pineapple in there. It's pretty good but it's not the brightest aroma I've found on a "juicy" IPA. On to the flavor, which of course is the most important point... very nice! The citrus remains, mainly orange/tangerine, but there are more tropical notes than I'd originally though as well... papaya, melon, peach, guava, and passionfruit - even a squirt of lemon. A firm bitterness balances it and it finishes citrusy, slightly acidic, and dry and moderately bitter. Some nice lacing has been left behind on the glass although the head has fallen to just a whispy surface covering and standard collar; and it's medium bodied and gently crisp and then smooth in the mouth. Overall it's a decent enough "juicy" IPA although quite a bit cloudier than most. I could go for a few of these though - very drinkable and refreshing!

Tall can w/o canning date or other freshness info

Typical looking NEIPA fully hazed pour, leaves a bunch of nice looking lacing

Juicy sniff with oranges and tangerine coming to mind

Tasty enough juicy IPA, more oranges and over ripe pineapple juice flowing across the palate. Delicious. Highly worthy Shelfie, gonna keep my eyes open for more of this stuff.

16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy and cloudy golden; big fluffy white head that slowly falls leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are subtle with hints of citrus and grass, but opens up as it slightly warms. Malts are there. The flavors are have a nice amount of citrus. Orange is there along with some subtle hints of grapefruit. More fresh grass. Low bitterness. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's extremely fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a pretty solid "New England IPA". It might not be super intense, but it still has nice hop flavors. It's refreshing and fun to drink. I like it.

A: Poured from the can into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Looks like Orange Juice: golden-orange in color, and the word "hazy" doesn't do it justice - it's more pulpy and thick, with a 1.5-finger foamy ivory head on top.

S: Old school San Diego-style IPA nose: big-time citrus (grapefruit, grapefruit rind, orange peel) and a raw, green hoppy-ness that reminds me of the old Green Flash offerings.

T: Pretty much follows the nose, with juicy citrus, a good bit of pineapple, and herbal, leafy hops. Finishes with a touch of pine needle bitterness. Straddles the line between West Coast and NE-style IPAs, with a juicy look and feel, with plenty of fruity sweet up front, but then finishes with a good bitter bite.

M: Call it medium in heft, though there's a slight sense that it's somewhat watery.

O: Quite good. I'm enjoying this one - though it could be because I've been sick for a little while and unable to enjoy good beers, making this one taste like ice cold water in a desert. . . .
