On tap at Basin Pub in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a fairly dark black, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like roasted malt and slight hops, with toasted spicy oak, rye whiskey, and lots of chocolate.

This is the best Ithaca beer I've had in a long time. The barrel character stands out nicely without dominating, giving off a nice spicy oak and earthy bourbon feel. There's a nice dark chocolate base, a bit of coffee, and a bit of hop bitterness.

It's really balanced, with a surprisingly sturdy body and a rich creamy mouthfeel.

This is a really nice surprise- Ithaca hasn't impressed me in a long while.
