In a nod to The Twilight Zone, we present the arrival of Enigmo. A seasonal question answered with elegant grace of white wine aromas, berries and tropical notes. Enigmo silently fuses the Enigma hop with Mosaic, Glacier and Nelson Sauvin, oddly not a consort of heavy handed hops but a flavor and finish that are soft and clean. The question of a Spring Kolsch? The answer is waiting for us in the Enigmo zone.

Clear, yellow color. Medium-sized, white head. Grain and light notes of fruits and herbal hops. Perfectly balanced taste with moderate bitterness. Refreshing.

Skunky, malty, and strangely overly carbonated, I'd put this swill on par with National Bohemian...maybe.
It's really disgusting and at 40 degrees F, I don't know why every bottle foams up and over as soon as I open it.
Stay away, this is not a kolsch. I don't know what it is other than bad.

Had this towards the end of my evening at Ithaca Brewing and October 2019 New England trip.
Yellow cloudy pour, 1/2" white head with good retention. There was a lot of talk about the hops in this one, but they didn't show up. I mean, sure, traditionally this shouldn't have Mosaic or Nelson Sauvin hops, but look, you're the one pushing this narrative and recipe, so if your commercial tug job doesn't pan out, don't fall back on style guidelines as an excuse.
Oh I think I get it. The hops were used, but zero dry hopping. I like the taste. It works, its good, nice and crisp, but with a bit of those tropical fruit flavors and hippie weed body stank, but not so over the top that it becomes an ipa. Surprised how crisp it is, yes, the carbonation is up there and fitting, but the cloudiness of the appearance made me think it was gonna be more bready and hoppy than crisp and refreshing. Ok, I take back my low key rage about the aroma hops not standing out, because they worked nice in the other departments.

Kölsch with enigma and mosaic hops. Refreshing but not over powering. A solid beer and worth a try for the summer.

Ithica really knows how to make a tasty Kolsch. This one has fruity/juicy/sweet hops that finish crisp and balance really well with a grainy malt background. Highly recommend.
