Had this at the back end of the October 2019 New England trip, at the Ithaca brewery, right after having Uncle Buzzy, a pretty similar beer.
Its another honey colored beer with 1/3" white head on it. Has a mild tropical fruit gauntlet of aroma, mild pale toasted malt hint of caramel.
Taste delivers on the hoppiness. There is a firm presence of dry bitterness thanks to the Simcoe hop. It seems to push the most weight of all the hops here. Mosaic and Galaxy give those mild tropical notes. Also uses some wheat to keep the malt bill slightly lighter, similar to their Uncle Buzzy. Its pretty crushable so doesn't seem like the 7.5% gets in the way for being too hot or amplifying bitterness or whatnot. Guessing the herbal component is Eukanot.
Their double ipas appear to be their best stuff when I sampled nearly their entire lineup during my visit. Love the backyard out there.

Poured a pint can into a Spiegelau IPA glass, raising a big head that subsided to a thin fizz film fairly soon, tho it left fine lacing. Color's a brownish orange SRM 9, fairly turbid, as in too hazy to see any detail through. The cute can has a code: "AL19001-2 191001" that might mean it was canned on October 1st a bit more than two months ago. Not much hop smell, nor malt; ethanol's the main odor. Tastes very nicely bittered, with fine carbonation and a clear multihop choir of lupulin ladies singing nicely. Yes, I'm influenced by can graphics, but this is my favorite of the 2019 Double IPA series, and I liked Uncle Buzzy a lot, too. I wish Ithaca Beer would try a DIPA without the oats and wheat, but I'm not missing malt since the hopping is so flavorful.

16oz tallboy can, media sample from the brewery.
Reminds me of those old school West Coast IPAs. Nearly clear with a lot of suds sticking to the glass. Very aromatic & well balanced. Bitter with a faint caramel tone. Clean but with a long lingering aftertaste. Smooth and a little creamy with the back end coming up with crispness. Slightly warming, right at the threshold of being a DIPA. No doubt ... I enjoyed this brew.
