Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is gold, transparent with some floaters, head is very light tan with frothy head that presents 1.5 fingers thick, head remains solid and great lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is a bit lighter than strength/style would anticipate - notes of citrus, pine, earth, toasted and caramel malts.
Taste is an amped up Flower Power - big citrus, pine, earth, herbal hops; malt flavors include toast, caramel, and honey.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate/strong bitterness that punches the tongue and lingers there.
Overall a well executed, malt forward and bitter DIPA - I guess we call this west coast now, but really just a very good DIPA.
