From 09/09/11 notes. Had on tap at Night of the Funk.
a - Pours a hazy dark yellow color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of tropical fruits, apples, and fruity malts. Nice and fruity as expected, but not nearly as sour as Brute.
t - Tastes of tropical fruits, apples, fruity malts, light yeast and spices, and very light sour fruits. A step up from the nose, thanks to the sourness.
m - Medium body and moderate to high carbonation.
o - Overall an interesting variation of Brute. I liked this and it was definitely fruity like they were going for, but in the process they seemed to lose a lot of the sourness and yeast that goes along with Brute. I got to try Batch 1 Brute in the VIP forum Friday night (unreal) and several pours of the latest Brute batch in the Saturday afternoon session, and I think both were much better than this. Fun to try but personally prefer Brute.
