Collaboration with Løkken Bryghus.
As the name JOHN indicates, this ale is as confident as it comes, without being pretendtiously overwhelming. It’s a Dark Ale with a lighthearted soul and the best intentions. Let’s be frank, there is only one thing left to say, please have a JOHN. Curated by Depanneur.

Copenhagen 24/3 2019. 33 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen, Nordre Frihavnsgade, Kbh Ø. Produced for Convenience Store Depanneur. Simple label with name of the beer in black on white background.
Pours unclear maroon with small off-white head. Settles as flimsy remnants of foam floating on the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is dark, sweet and lightly roasted. Caramel, lightly roasted dark malts, butter, nuts, brown sugar in abundance. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, lightly prickly, oily texture.
Flavor is rather sweet followed by a very moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a while.
Very much on the sweet side. A little more roasted malts and little less brown sugar would suit it.
