I had this on cask at Forest and Main, served cask temp in a Nonic.
The color is ruby with light tan rocky creamy head with fine bead-good lace and retention. Smell of yeast is the main aroma with light malt toastiness in the smell and gentle caramel scent with light herbal hop odor and a subtle spice ester. Mouthfeel is pleasant but almost no carbonation yet nice malt body with subtle hops and creaminess of yeast with light bitterness and gently dry finish.
The flavor is exceptional -very great malt expressiveness with slight pine and herbal hop flavor providing balance with light yeast fruitiness and subtle dried fruit essence alongside the caramel and mild red pear-like taste with a hint of spice as it finishes. Overall this is a pretty great English style bitter -would drink this just about anytime as it is easy to quaff.
