Our interpretation of a French Bier de Garde. This beer was brewed with barley, wheat, and rye and aged and fresh hops; fermented with a special blend of yeasts and then bottle conditioned for 4 months.

Malty on the nose with just a hint of sweetness and earthy funk.
Mouthfeel is medium full but it drinks so easy. Tartness is more present in the flavor but you get all the wonderful malt flavors without too much body or sweetness. Very nice.

Pours a hazy burnt orange color with deep copper/tangerine edges and a frothy three finger yellowish-beige head that slowly settles. Not a gusher but overcarbed taking too long to settle. Streaks of soapy lacing coat the glass on the way down. Nice color and head retention but overcarbed.
Sweet, slight funky aroma with earthy farmhouse yeast, sweaty Brett and grassy resins countered by a lightly toasted malt bill with caramel sweetness. The earthy/grassy funk stands out as it warms with farmhouse/barn, straw and hay. Delicate sweetness with hints of melon and white peach. There's also some caramel, toffee and light bread.
Full body and slightly chewy with tight carbonation and a decent amount of oxidization. Slightly cardboard-like with tongue tickling bubbly effervescence. Finishes light and clean but heavy carb hurts the overall flavor and mouthfeel. Similar to the aroma with dry, earthy resins, funky farmhouse yeast and musty bugs. Grass, straw, sticky resins, hay and delicate musty funk. Sweet biscuit and caramel malts along with some toffee and light toast in the finish. Interesting blend of flavors but nothing really stands out and the carb really hurts enjoyment/drinkability.

Bottle from Jake65. Soft pour, silky body, mildly tart aroma and taste. Grapes essence, solid malt backbone, tart finish. Another great example of an underrepresented style.

500 ml bottle. Spicy rye notes on the nose, grassy hops, Saison yeast notes and pale malt. A quick hit of funk up front, along with some rye. Mellows out into some bready malts. Personally, I think this could use even more time in the bottle.
