Pours a hazy golden yellow with a finger of white head.
Lots of citrus on the nose with hints of pineapple.
Lots of pithy grapefruit and lime flavor. A bit earthy.
Medium bodied with prickly carbonation.
Overall a good beer.

Welcome back for the seCANd act of New @CanConPhilly Beer Sunday (Week 709)!

From the CAN: "Keep Cold * Drink Fresh".

I did my part, putting my booty into my BeerFrigerator as soon as I arrived home in CANticiaption of today, but now the appointed day has arrived & it is time to Crack! open the seCANd of his four CANs! I knew going into it that it was going to be another NEIPA so clarity was not a CANcern. As such, I performed an inverted Glug that raised just over two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with good retention that returned the favor by forming loads of great lacing as it fell. Color was a cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose had the now-typical tropical fruitiness of mango, papaya, guava & passionfruit. The revamped Style Guide says that this is well within spec, so fair dinkum, boys. Mouthfeel was medium, but not as creamy as the first one from them in this selfsame style, begging the question of the point of adding lactose, oats and/or whichever other adjuncts went into its production. I thought that the idea was to promote a milkshake-like creaminess. Hmm. The taste was very much of tropical fruits, but there was nothing to distinguish it from any other beer in the style. Finish was semi-dry, but as usual, if you wanted to argue for semi-sweet, I would not fight you on it. In the interim, I was grateful for the CAN and the inspiration for a field trip next weekend, but outside of that, I was kind of unimpressed. YMMV.

Hazy and pale, brown-tinted yellow with two fingers of off-white head. Nice rings of lacing.

Pineapple, melon, green apple and white pepper show in the aroma.

Very peppery flavor with much lighter fruit than the nose suggested. Some earthiness and a distant nuttiness in the background as well.

Medium to full bodied with a nice little fizz to the carbonation.

Not bad, but not one I plan to come back to, either.

L - 2-finger bright white head atop a translucent yellow body.

S - pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, melon, herb.

T - sweet tangerine and pineapple. Tastes almost like fruit juice rather than beer. A touch of sour lime, woody funk, white wine, grapefruit rind, butter, melon, with a hint of dank and alcohol. Low bitterness. Moderate sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium body with aggressive carb.

O - I don’t think this beer actually has juice in it, but it sure tastes like it does.
