Pours a hazed golden amber with three fingers of white head.
Smells of citrus, grapefruit and oranges. Mild notes of honeydew also.
Taste follows pretty closely even if a bit muted.
Medium bodied with good carb.
Overall a good beer but not one I'd chase after in comparison to other PA options.

Welcome to the apt Act One of New @CanConPhilly Beer Sunday (Week 709)! A little background on this week's selections & entry - user @CanConPhilly had posted a pic of his latest CAN haul during Week 704 & I implored him to save the spent CANs for a buddy's CANlection. He assented & so last Sunday, I made a brief foray to PHL to do a little beer shopping & to drop by & pick up the empties. He was a gracious host & invited me in for beer & to meet a former colleague of his who was visiting that afternoon. We ended up hanging out on his deck for a good bit (I caught some sunburn to prove this), drinking beer & talking, before shoving off for chow. We went to a local Chinese takeaway & while they got takeaway, I ate & then took Lyft back to 30th Street Station in time to catch an earlier train & get home two hours prior to my anticipated time. It all worked out as planned & even better as he refused to see me leave with only empty CANs, never mind the backpack that was chockful of my shopping haul. It was clear that I could not leave without some of his stash without offending him, plus that tiny reptilian part of my brain activated. It reminded me that I should never turn down: a) $, b) sex, c) a ride (since I do not drive) and/or d) beer, since to do so sends the message that I am satiated & I may never get another such offer. 8=( I assented & he went into his reefer to choose four (4) personally curated CANs for The CANQuest (tm), each of which will get priority today, with this CAN being Act One.

From the CAN: "Keep Cold * Drink Fresh".

I did my part, putting my booty into my BeerFrigerator as soon as I arrived home in CANticiaption of today, but now the appointed day has arrived & it is time to Crack! open my first of his four CANs! The Crack! was nice & loud & I celebrated this CAN's arrival with an inverted Glug in honor of my ex-Old Lady, who cringed (at least) when I did this within her survey. She is part of the reason that I no longer attend the GABF - she lives in a Denver suburb. My life as a C&W song ala all my exes live in Texas, that's why I live in Tennessee. Onward! The initial uprush of foam CAN be disCANcerting & off-putting to the uninitiated, but to those of us who dare, it becomes a challenge as to how high we CAN go, ala 1980s hairdos. I took things to new heights with this one, achieving over four fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head that initially held in and then suddenly exhaled, falling like a soufflé when the oven door is banged shut. The lacing that it left behind was magnificent. Color was a cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). I am down with this, but I refuse to give a cloudy IPA of any stripe a number in the 4s. Nose was very tropical with the usual mango, papaya, guava & passionfruit suspects in the lineup. Remember, boys & girls, ALWAYS rate/review to Style & NOT to personal Taste! I found the mouthfeel to be a tad thin for the style, an especially egregious error when the oats and/or lactose adjuncts are supposed to impart a creaminess. Shrug. The taste was about in the middle of the road for this sort of beer. It was tropical fruity, but not over the top & in yer face. I agree that it was "Good", but not anything worth chasing after, IMHO. Finish was semi-dry, remaining tropical fruity without a lot of sweetness. I hate to damn it with faint praise, but my favorite aspect of this CAN was its Native American/Alaskan motif on its Crack! & peel label. 8=( I applaud whomever took & submitted the approved pic as it captured the label nicely.

Hazed honey-gold with two-plus fingers of near white head. Heavy lacing.

Delicate aroma of tropical fruits, melon,
cedar and white pepper.

Taste is quite mild. There's more of that white pepper and light evergreen over a muted melon-and-pear-like fruitiness. Moderate bitterness. There's something else that almost approaches nuttiness, but is not quite there.

Full bodied with a fairly still feel.

This is perfectly drinkable, but nothing I plan to order again. 8/24/18 canned on date.

Canned 8/24/18 (15 days ago)

L - 1.5 finger dense white head atop a murky orange body.

S - herb, grapefruit, orange.

T - dank grapefruit and orange. Bready middle, with a touch of banana/clove. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. No booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - some nice flavors, but a bit too heavy on the dank.
