Pours a hazed, brown-hued copper color with two fat fingers of dense, tan-colored foam head. Good retention and thick lacing.
Rich, malty aroma with dry white toast, leather and a hint of cinnamon apple slices.
Similar elements carry over to the taste, which is fairly bitter and abruptly dry in the finish. The bitterness is really all that lingers.
Full bodied for the style with moderate carbonation.
A mature, well-made beer with all the right elements and a balance I enjoy. Would love to session this, even if the ABV is a bit high. Reviewed from a can rather than on the hand pump.
