16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single from a local bar/bottle shop for $4.90. No canned on date; this was released on Instagram on June 30, so that would make this can one day shy of 5 months old.

Look: Pours a slightly hazy deep golden orange color. There is a very thin compact off-white head clinging to the surface and edge of the glass. Tiny bubbles are rising to the surface at a moderate pace. Some hop protein sediment at the bottom of the can.

Smell: Initially, this was very dank but much of that has blown off. Now, I get a huge green bell pepper note along with cucumber. There's also a lot of oily and bitter citrus zest (grapefruit, citron) along with some tropical notes of papaya and starfruit. Very peppery and earthy. Mild crackery malt trying to peek through the hoppy notes. It smells interesting and it is making me wonder just how it is going to taste.

Taste: Really tasty. I was afraid that this was going to be a bitter bomb based on the nose, but it is actually very balanced and drinkable. I would say that this is more in the West Coast style of beers even though it is not advertised as such by Forest & Main. I guess you could say that it is somewhere in between the West Coast and East Coast styles. Up front, it is citrusy and just slightly juicy. The finish is moderately bitter with nice notes of grapefruit zest and pith, orange bitters, and peppery notes.

Feel: For a 6.8% IPA, it has a pretty nice mouthfeel. The mouthfeel is a bit slick and oily and it leaves a nice feeling on the palate after you have swallowed the beer. The mouthfeel is also nice and on the softer side because the carbonation is very fine. It's pretty clean and quite refreshing. Medium bodied. Appropriately carbonated.

Overall: These guys make awesome beer. I keep reviewing Forest & Main's beers and I keep saying that! Even for an almost 5-month old IPA, it still rocks. If I see a Forest & Main beer for sale that I have not had yet, I am going to buy it and chances are that I am going to like it!

Lasting Mirage - 6.8% IPA⁣

A really luminous IPA brewed with 100% Golden Promise barley, hopped with lush amounts of Riwaka and Centennial, and fermented with our favourite British yeast. So many beautiful things in this beer, but that New Zealand Riwaka really steals the show - such a lovely, delicate sweet orange creamsicle thing - *chef’s kiss. ⁣

We taste other fine notes of papaya smoothie, sweet pineapple, mango lassi, ripe baking pears, super soft white bread, and just a damn fine IPA.⁣
