16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single from a local bar/bottle shop for $4.50. No canned on date; says on Instragram that it was released on June 10, so that means that this is being consumed at just over six months old.

Look: Pours a light to medium gold color with a slight haze and very small particulates. There was a nice frothy white head upon pouring, which has reduced to a thin layer. Looks the part of an American IPA. Appearance became much hazier after pouring the bottom of the can.

Smell: Interesting aromas. Definitely citrus - orange zest, lemon oil - along with watermelon, cucumber, and a slightly floral and medicinal/chewable vitamin note (a bit of chalkiness, to be expected from a six-month hazy IPA). That watermelon/cucumber note smells really good. If I didn't know that this had lemongrass in it, I don't think that I would be able to tell from the nose. Spicy, gingery, peppery, and herbal notes on the finish. Green bell pepper also on the finish after swirling the glass.

Taste: It is not quite as I had expected, yet I am impressed and pleasantly surprised. Up front, there are nice citrus flavors and a pleasant, crackery maltiness. This beer has a pronounced bitterness - lots of bitter orange and pithy grapefruit - yet it finishes very earthy while still clean, crisp, and dry. The bitterness lingers long and it is refreshing. Only after a while am I starting to get this grassy, lemony lemongrass flavor that is reminiscent of Thai cuisine. After adding the bottom of the can, the flavors were mellowed out a lot more along with the intensity of the bitter finish. It's very drinkable.

Feel: The mouthfeel is pleasant - it has a nice softness to it. The beer is on the lighter side of medium bodied. Appropriately carbonated.

Overall: It's tasty. Even though this beer has been kept cold, I am curious how the flavor of the lemongrass has evolved over time. This is a beer that is ideally consumed fresher, yet it has held up surprisingly well.

Picture Book - 6.3% Lemongrass IPA. ⁣

We really love lemongrass, we put it in our tea, our soap, our saisons, and yes indeed IPAs. We brewed this one with barley and spelt malts, hopped it with lots of Idaho 7 and Centennial, and steeped lots of freshly dried lemongrass from @omaherbalteas of Schwenksville, PA.

It has notes of fresh lemon pound cake, vanilla custard, grapefruit breakfast, gentle pineapple, and maybe even a coconut.⁣
