This is one fine daddy IPA. We mashed Maris Otter and some crystal malt, hopped it in the kettle (only the kettle!) with East Kent Golding, Columbus, and Wolf, and fermented it with our London ale yeast. Such a fine beer, it’s hoppy, without the hops being the dominant thing; the malt character is there, but it finishes dry; you can really just drink it!

Aroma is very earthy and citrus/fruit/punch. The flavor is fruit/berries, big earthy/nutty malts/grains and a mildly sweet/spicy/slightly piney hop finish.

5/3/25 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Purchased at Beer on the Wall at Park Ridge at store temperature for $5.69 including tax on March 22, 2025. Refrigerated upon returning home until opening this morning. 16 oz, no can date, distributed week ended 3/21/25. 6.0% ABV, British-Style IPA. Keep Cold - Drink Fresh. Brewed and packaged by Forest & Main Brewing Company, 241 N. Main Street, Ambler, Pennsylvania.
Appearance: First pour about 12 oz into a nonic glass, yielding a clear tan golden base, and generous very creamy egg white generous head, which yields clumpy lacing and a thick creamy cover above the base. Looks very good! 4.25
Aroma: Black tea, breads malt and hoppy citrus vibes. Mild plus in strength, a bit higher in enjoyment. 3.75
Taste: Consistent with the aroma though stronger/fuller, bread, caramel and toffee malt, tea, lemon and citrus. Very nice. 4.0
Mouthfeel: Very dry and bitter. So nice if that floats your boat. Drinks light and easy at first but strong diesel alcohol hits midway in, making it feel stronger than the ABV. Light watery body, extremely gentle carbonation, much more seen than felt. Dry, dry, dry, bitter leads from start to finish, with flavors of bread, caramel and lemon. 4.25
Overall: This is an intense / extreme beer, at least in my end with the needle at eleven for dryness. It’s Steven Wrightesque, and thankfully for me I like both. Glad I picked this out, will definitely seek out on future annual drops here, or if I get back to their brewery. Thanks for shipping this to us Forest & Main! 4.25

Delivered from a hand pump in an Imperial pint clear glass mug, it looks just like a proper British IPA. It's brown-amber in color, bright and relatively opaque because of its richness, rather than haziness. Only mildly hoppy and malty, yet the aroma is pleasant and inviting. The taste is so spot on to what you'd expect from a traditional IPA. The malt provides a great backbone, without being overly sweet. The hops provide most of the flavor, bitter in an earthy way, neither fruity, nor piney. Afterwards, the hop bite lingers, turning the finish bitterly dry, including just a little whiskey reference. There may not be much glass lacing, but considering all this brings, that's hardly worth mentioning. This is a true IPA and it's very good. It's too bad there's no longer enough of them.

I had this on draft 3/25/25 @ the Beer Temple.
Semi-opaque dark orange appearance.
Big khaki head; strong, frothy lacing remained.
Earl Grey tea & orange peel notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Earl Grey tea & orange peel flavors.
Old world meets new; this was tasty.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a Willi Becher glass. It pours an attractive, hazy, bright honey color with a half finger, creamy cap of bright white foam and thick, long-lasting lacing. Its nose offers toasted brown bread, caramel, and lite citrus. This is a tasty ale with big, burnt caramel and bitter lemon and grapefruit. There is a hint of honey from the English East Kent Golding hops, while the Columbus provides sharp, peppery bitterness throughout. It's bitter but highly refreshing. The mouth feel is crisp and lite with fairly lively carbonation, and it's very drinkable at 6% ABV. Overall, Pigeon of the Peak may the best example of an American-brewed English IPA I've tasted. It is well-worth seeking out.
