The perfect ale with which to watch the birds chuck the ol’ pigskin. We brewed this game-changer with lots of barley and oats and then brought in the special teams to hop it with loads of Citra, Amarillo, Idaho-7. No audibles were called, fermentation proceeded along with the game plan. We’re getting notes of citrus eating season in the produce section, zippy pineapple, tamarind pudding, homemade lemon curd, cooked barley, and a couple sassy mangoes

Maybe because it's so obviously trying to tag along with a reference to America's favorite national team sport that reduces this to practically pandering. Maybe not so, as a full pint can's contents were emptied into a clear glass liter mug. That pour was pretty, as an opaque, yet brightly apricot-amber colored liquid was exposed. Not as pretty was the foam the pour produced, but there have been worse offenders. The foam reduces to an enduring off-white head that seems to be enduring. There's a nice piney and/or resinous hoppy bite to its aroma. That aspect carries into the taste, but unfortunately, there's an almost soapy character that comes with it. Even as the sample is down-sized, virtue of drinking it, no taste adjustment undoes that reference. The body is nothing to rave about, probably a little less than ideal for a modern NEIPA. For the style, it's good for providing some sharply resinous hop bite. But it's bad at providing a nice malty counterbalance, which certainly would improve the taste and mouthfeel.
