West Coast IPA. This is a beautiful little outdoor IPA, brewed with Maris Otter and Vienna malts, and hopped abundantly with Motueka, Strata, and Amarillo.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass.Pours a moderately hazy, medium golden amber with a three finger white head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, vague mixed fruit, caraway seed and a hint of dankness and floral notes. Flavor is lightly biscuit and pale malt, citrus and fruit hops, lemon, dried citron, celery, mixed tropical and light stone fruit and hints of pine. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Well, another "west coast" IPA from the Midwest that pours hazy and has lots of fruit character. It does have nice citrus flavor and a hint of pine, but it is not a typical West Coast hop profile and the bitterness is attenuated. That being said, the bitterness is just enough to pass my standard and the hop bill is actually quite pleasant and interesting. To my taste there a distinct celery note that must be an interaction between the other fruit flavors, but I liked it quite a bit and can't recall another profile like this. It won my heart even if it is not a classic WC IPA. Flavor depth and malt flavor is great for the ABV. A winner.
