Night Lines - 7.4% American Stout
Really digging this stout, it is dangerously crushable for 7.4% abv. We brewed it with a lush assortment of British and German dark specialty malts and roasted barleys.
It has rich notes of Black Forest Cake, tiramisu, blanched raisins, cold brew coffee, chyawanprash, fresh plums, and some homemade cola.

A clear pint glass, nearly full, was delivered from a tap pour. There was a little light tan head, as that's the way we pour draft beers in the Philadelphia area. However, it is remarkably sustaining. The liquid beneath is the typical black coffee brown of most stouts. Its aroma is roasted malt, with some coffee, dark chocolate and vague spices. It drinks like a solid stout, with the roasted malt leading to the nuances of dark chocolate and espresso. There's also a tinge of some sort of spice reference, close to cinnamon or nutmeg, but not so pronounced to being readily identifiable. It's taste is full enough to pass, but it can't be considered rich. The mouthfeel is a little light for the flavors and ABV, again not to a major fault. Perhaps less than distinguished, this is still a good stout, worthy of a try and a revisit. As it approaches a higher ABV for its style, it never gets too sweet, nor too alcoholic to taste. There's even some stratified lacing within the glass to appreciate. Overall, it's not quite world class, but it's very good.
