Night Ride - 6.5% West Coast IPA.
This beautiful hoppy beer was brewed with barley and wheat and hopped and dry hopped with tons of Riwaka and Cashmere. It pours the kind of brilliantly glowing gold that illuminates the face of a villain in a 90’s action movie when he opens the briefcase filled with stolen bars of gold.
The hop character is a lush lovable tropical kind, the Riwaka and Cashmere not your typical West Coast combo, but working so well here. Getting notes of psychedelic lime-aide, grapefruit margarita, white Airheads, if blowing Spring pine pollen was actually kief, and some strawberry seltzer.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $5.15. Not sure when this was canned, but I think it's pretty fresh.
Look: Pours a deep gold color, with a slight copper hue. Nice clarity and visible carbonation rising up the glass. There was a finger of rocky white head that has dissipated to a thin layer. After pouring the bottom of the glass, the beer shows a bit of haziness and the head is more off-white and sticking around longer.
Smell: Aromas are very enticing: lots of dankness, fragrant lime zest, and peach gummy rings. There's a nice white grape note also. Smells really great.
Taste: It's super crushable and it has really great flavor. Up front, it's very aromatic and a bit piney. The dankness is very much present. More lime pith and zest on the palate as opposed to the fragrant lime zest on the nose. The finish has a moderate bitterness and also a noticeable dryness, leaving behind a flavor that is reminiscent of melon rind and grapefruit pith. Through it all, this beer has a great West Coast IPA malt backbone that shows just enough caramel maltiness to make you coming back for more and without being overpowering. Excellent restraint.
Feel: It has a medium plus body with a bit of malty chewiness and a crisp finish. Nicely carbonated.
Overall: It's another super Forest & Main beer. These guys make what they make so well. Their WCIPAs are amazing, as this one is. I am actually surprised that this beer is brewed with Riwaka and Cashmere. If I would have guessed, I would have said Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin. They brewed it very well - nice job!

A stark-white foamy pour was part of emptying the entire contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. Let's blame the usual suspect, wheat. The mess receded quickly, but almost evenly, leaving scant glass lacing. It's color is lightly and brightly golden-amber and it's surprising translucent. A book could easily be read through it. The aroma is balanced between the two hop and two grain ingredients, but the barley and wheat combination is more pleasant. The taste is also balanced between the starches, which makes it agreeable and the hops. As a good West Coast style IPA should provide, this opens with a pleasant malty sweetness, but by midstream, the transition to hoppy bitterness begins. By the finish, it's almost all hops, complexly piney and citrus zesty. Said finish is sharply dry and clean. Its ABV seems to be right where it should be, considering taste and mouthfeel. The inclusion of Riwaka hops adds an unfamiliar taste for those not used to it, but the palate readily adjusts to it. Overall, this is a good beer and a commendable example of the category. The body may run a little light, but that's the style.
