Draft offering at the source. The brew appears a mahogany color with a khaki head resting atop.

The aroma is dark and fruity like molasses with subtle hint of alcohol and other not so readily identifiable fruited qualities hinting toward raison.

The taste also includes that of dark fruity sugars. Some dates, prunes, molasses, raison and a musty grain aftertaste with plenty of warming alcohol.

This is medium to full bodied with a light level of carbonation and very big alcohol impact/warmth that distracts a little. This is listed on here as a dubbel? I never would have guessed that.

First had: on tap at F&M, Ambler, PA

Poured a rich, dark, mahogany brown, with a moderate tan head that retained and laced well. Nutty aroma, caramel and toasted grains, hints of molasses and fruit esters. Taste followed the aroma almost completely, dark sugars--caramel, molasses--toasted grain, nuts, afterthoughts of banana and spice. Not a big, bold taste, but very sessionable, especially with a nearly unnoticeable 7%ABV. Body is medium, and overall this is a very good selection. If we're picking favorites, I'd say Vera is my personal #2 from F&M behind Kinch. It would be interesting to see how it would serve up from a cask.
