So refreshing to dig into a new style to break the IPA rut. A dark copper with a modest nose, then smooth bready, slightly brown goodness made this one of pleasure. Really good effort for this off the main path style, Enjoy!

Undated can; drank 4/7/25 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque brown/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge tan head; strong, frothy tree-rung lacing remained.
Fresh biscuit & mild peanut butter notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Fresh biscuit & mild peanut butter flavors.
Simple and pleasing; considering the low ABV, it's flavorful. Great fall flavors.

From an undated 16oz can into s pint glass. Abv listed at 3.2%.
Pours a slightly translucent, dark reddish brown with one finger of light tan head. Ok retention and lacing.
Smoky, ashy roasty, bitter chocolate and coffee aromas.
Taste follows.
Medium bodied. Low carbonation. Light smoky aftertaste.
Nice beer. Not a style I'm familiar with. Ton of flavor for low abv.

Many thx to The_Kriek_Freak for this can.
A - Dark burgundy brown pour with light caramel creamy lacing.
S - Light chocolate aroma dominates the nose.
T - Mild chocolate with a mild bitterness that's perfectly balanced on the backside.
M - Medium body with some prickly carbonation and a little thin around the edges.
O - Really nicely done and kudos to Forest & Main.

16oz can purchased from the brewery as part of a variety 4-pack for $5. No canned on date. Currently offered at Forest & Main as both Beer To Go and on draft. The beer gets its name from gets its name from Hamlet, Act V, Scene 1, in which Hamlet holds the skull of the court jester, Yorick, and says, "Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is!"
Look: It's like cherry wood colored; dark brown with ruby highlights. Very dark yet still clear. An aggressive pour yielded one finger of fluffy, slightly rocky light brown colored head. The head slowly died down to a thin layer. Looks like a very inviting brew.
Smell: Nice aromas of chocolate, light coffee, roasted nuts (chestnuts, hazelnuts), and dark dried fruit (raisins, figs). Faint earthy, spicy hop aromas on the finish. This has a pretty impressive nose for a 3.2% ABV beer.
Taste: That's tasty. And super drinkable, obviously. The type of beer you could drink all day. It's very malt forward with notes of dark brown bread and unsweetened cocoa. Kind of has a root beer vibe going on without really tasting like sarsaparilla at all. The finish is super clean, crisp, and smooth. There's a kiss of earthy hops on the finish that provide a very light, lingering minty and spicy sensation.
Feel: The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, with a light to medium body. I would say that it's closer to medium than light. Nicely carbonated.
Overall: Delicious. This may be my first English Dark Mild Ale. Quite a winner! I will have to try to seek out more beers of this style in the future.
From the website:
You might call Poor Yorick a dark mild, you also might not. We don’t call it much of anything aside from one of our favorites. It’s brewed with Maris Otter and a thoughtful blend of dark British malts, and gently hopped with Fuggles.
It has notes of homemade chocolate candies, a caramel apple, being close to someone drinking coffee, dried dates, a whiff of vanilla sugar, and some nice dark bread.
