Served on cask at Forest and Main. A clear, dark amber-bodied beer with a small, slowly settling head and good lacing. Aroma is very bready, lighted toasted malt, hints of caramel and herbal hops.
The flavor has a touch of mild herbal and floral hop bitterness that brings nice balance to the prominent toasted bread character of the malt. Light caramel sweetness dries up pretty well in the finish, but not entirely. Not much lingering bitterness at all in the aftertaste.
Cask treatment makes for an exceptionally smooth drinking experience; moderate to low carbonation, medium-light bodied, but not watery. Goes down very easily. A traditional, toasty, and mild but tasty Best Bitter. Served at cellar temp.
