Growler from 16 Tons in Eugene. This is a blend of an open fermented wild and apple juice from 2 Towns cider.
A pale straw yellow with a dense, off white head with solid retention and lacing. The nose is bright and refreshing. Bright sourness, mildly lemony and plenty of cider flavor, an earthy musty aroma and a clean, crackery malt aroma. The dusty apple juice aroma is really noticeable, nicely so. Moderate Brett notes are present on the nose.
The palate with plenty of apple juice, apple skin tannins, a moderate Brett note with clove, a little pepper and some sourness. The combination of apple juice and Brett brings out some really citrusy, refreshing flavors. The mid palate has thr blend of dough, crackers and a little honey. Light in body and highly carbonated, this beer finishes long, Brett heavy with clove and clean. Nicely done.
