A clear amber with a thin white head that falls off rapidly leaving little lacing this looks solid. The nose is intriguing. A blend of fresh, fragrant and bright honey with deeper, mildly oxidized sherry notes, a little Brett, some fruit with green apple, a little peach, and dark raisin. The palate opens with a blend of mild but sharp lactic acid, a hint of vinegar and a wonderful, deep, complex golden malt blend with honey, light caramel, a little sherry and toffee. Then, we have the fruity notes - green apple, peach, a light rum soaked raisin character and wonderful, firming, barrel tannins. Drying on the finish, this beer is medium light in body and softly carbonated. Excellent, unique stuff, the closest I can think of is a lighter and carbonated Cambridge Arquebus.
