Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pour a medium golden amber with a half finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, lemon and orange. Flavor follows, with caramel malt, piney and lightly citrus hops, pine needles, light orange and lemon citrus. Finishes with resinous piney hops and a little toffee. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A nice West Coast style IPA that leans, as advertised, very much in the piney direction. Not that complex, but the pine is distinct and the malt to hops balanced. Great lingering pine bitterness in the finish with hints of spruce gum. I'll be looking to see if any more of these are around, I need my WC IPA fix with the current hot weather, and hazies are dominating the market.
