On tap at Beer O'clock the other day.
The beer an almost orange, clear golden amber color with pretty good head retention and light lacing. On the nose, the cognac barrel aging is pretty noticeable, though it's dominated by the huge aroma of vanilla and honey. The beer smells almost cloying sweet, and frankly, the flavor profile is more of the same. The beer is very sweet (even for a Barleywine), with once again the honey and vanilla really dominating the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is fairly full and smooth, and the finish is very long and sweet. Drinkability is fair at best, as the sweetness is almost too much of a good thing. Really hard to imagine drinking more than a very small amount of this beer (even the 4 ounce pour I ordered was a chore to get down).
Not sure this is something I need to revisit any time soon.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
