On tap at Saraveza the other day for their Block 15 bourbon BA release event.
The beer pours the expected blackish brown color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, this is impressive stuff, as I pick up a huge aroma of dark chocolate, maraschino cherry, light bourbon and light vanilla. The flavor profile replicated the nose pretty closely in this beer, but wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated. I would have appreciated a bit more bourbon on the nose and in the flavor profile, but that's really my only criticism (a minor one at that). Mouthfeel was fairly full, with the alcohol well integrated into the flavor profile. So drinkability is pretty high in this beer.
Very nice offering from the folks at Block 15.

Thanks to Vurt for this one. 16oz bottle poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a solid black color with about 1/2 inch of brown head that had medium retention and light lacing.
The aroma featured a nice chocolate scent, with just a hint of cherry in the background. All that on top of a solid Stout base. Pretty similar on the tongue, but there was a bit of an alcohol burn.
The body was solid, without being overly heavy, and had a semi-sweet finish. Drinkability was good, for a big brew. Overall, a pretty nice brew, a must-try if you see it.
