Chilled 500 ml bottle poured into a Spiegelau stout glass . Received from @snaotheus in Bif14
Dense creamy soapy two finger brown foam cap , settles to a pencil thick layer after five minutes over a black motor oil , few lacings
Aroma is roast malts, char , leather , bourbon, licorice , dark cocoa, tobacco
Taste is dark cocoa nibs , roast malts, char
Mouth feel has a boozy bourbon heat, dragons breath
Nice beer but I’m put off by the booziness , the heat, which detracts from the taste

Thanks to Vurt for this one. 16oz bottle poured into 8oz glass. Poured a solid black color with 1/2 inch of dark tan head that had good retention and lacing.
The aroma had a good base beer scent, with lots of chocolate wafting throughout. The same on the tongue, with the addition of a notable roast aspect. The bourbon barrel was very subtle.
The body was full and smooth, with no rough edges. Drinkability was very good, I could have easily taken the whole bottle myself. Overall, a very good brew, a must try if you see it.
