On tap at Saraveza during their recent Block 15 bourbon BA release event.
The beer pours the expected blackish brown color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, I'm picking up dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee and noticeable bourbon. Given the name, I guess I expected more of a bourbon presence, but it's still pretty nice. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, and I appreciate the fact the beer isn't overly sweet (no one is going to mistake this for a pastry stout). Mouthfeel is fairly full, with a long finish. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile (would not have guessed this was a 13% abv. beer).
Nice offering from the folks at Block 15.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
