Look: Clear amber with a strong white head forming from a clunky pour. Recedes back leaving good lacing
Aroma: Malt, oak, sweet toasted bread, some herbal hops ā a little vanilla note shows up after the beer warms some
Taste: Rich, slightly sweet breadiness up front followed and joined by herbal hops with some sweet, subtle vanilla ā oak in the finish. Little to no heat. Really unique and tasty. Somewhat dry finish
Mouthfeel: Perfectly balanced, full bodied, rich but never oily, heavy or too sweet/syrupy. Medium carbonation
Overall: Digging this one, even though Iām on a now-suspect palate from earlier this evening. Solid representation of an American-made Maibock and the oak cask conditioning brought unique and enjoyable subtleties to a great base beer and a favorite style of mine, especialmente y obviamente en la primavera. Prost!

Canned 2/21/2020, reviewed live
Disappointing, the oak barrel aging this beer received was either done to cover up existing faults in the base beer, or caused the beer to develop a lack of any depth of malt complexity. The beer lacks significantly other interesting flavors to complement the fairly strong oakiness or the original malts used in the beer. The fairly obvious alcohol is also a fault for a 7.5% ABV lager. I don't get the honey, vanilla, caramelized sugar, or dried fruit that the label suggests. In general, neither much depth or intensity of aromas or flavors.
Pours a moderately dark beige colored foam that has average retention, fading to nothingness. Lacing is not present. Body is a golden orange color, with light bringing out brighter orange hues (SRM 11-14). Transparent.
Aroma is fairly mild, primarily of toasted oak with a faint background of toasted malt character.
Flavor is initially and predominantly of a dry, oak barrel character, which then melds with a background of fairly dull maltiness that's toasted to some some degree, and medium-light hop and/or alcohol spiciness. Front: dry, toasted oak barrel character, fairly assertive spice from alcohol and/or hops, mild toasted malt sweetness/character underneath the two predominant aspects. Mid: dry, toasted oak barrel character (at times almost giving this a whiskey-like aspect) with some modest toasted malt sweetness and character, light spiciness from hops and/or alcohol. Back: toasted oak barrel character, light spiciness from hops and/or alcohol, very faint toasted malt sweetness and character in the background. After: fairly muted toasted malt character, a touch of oak, lingering medium spiciness from alcohol and/or hops.
Beer is medium to medium-heavy in body, with carbonation of low intensity (2.2-2.3 vol CO2), resulting in a balanced foam and smoothness, generating a soft and pleasant mouthfeel. Alcohol felt a bit too easily, for a 7.5% ABV beer, in the nostrils and throat as heat. Closes dry, with fairly heavy stickiness on the lips and palate.

16 oz. can from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem OR.
$3.79
Pours a beautiful clear copper colour with a nice creamy eggshell white head..Lovely carbonation strings
Aromas of slightly toasted malts, some vanilla, woody tones and a bit of grassy hop..Very trad..very good.
Taste as the aroma , except for a nice semi sweet honey note throughout. Slight woodiness from the oak..
Mouth feel is medium to thick..carbonation is lowish despite what i see in the glass..almost like bottle conditioned.
An excellent traditional strong bock ( not a dopple).
