Our friend Gary, known to many as “The Beer Walker,” was the first customer through our doors in 2008. A lover of crisp, hoppy beers, Gary often lets us know how he feels about the evolving IPA. Developed with his friend Kirk Studach for Gary's 75th birthday, this IPA features crisp malts and generous amounts of simcoe, strata, and centennial hops—and there is certainly no damn lactose, mosaic, or haze in this beer!

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and fruit hops, grapefruit, orange, mixed light stone fruit and a touch of pine. Flavor is pale malt, citrus, fruit and pine hops, grapefruit, berries and pine; light dankness. Somewhat soft to to start, but develops fine bitterness in a lingering piney and citrus rind finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A solid West Coast style IPA with plenty of citrus and pine, but also some mild mixed fruit and dankness. Great finish with satisfying pine. The beer walker apparently likes IPAs the way I like them.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the tall IPA glass. Warm and mellow. Flavors of blackberry and peach. Tastes like roasted grain, even like a Maibock with the sweet fruity base, though hoppier. Not very bitter, and actually quite sweet. Toasty and a mild astringency in the aftertaste. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 05/12/22.

Look: Clear light orange with a fluffy-looking white head that quickly builds up, holds, and slowly retreats, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Sweet rose, ruby-red grapefruit, pine, Cannabis, oranges, kumquats, mandarins, some berries, and sweet bready malt
Taste: A barrage of citrus fruits opens it up and as they develop, resinous pine sap and needles pile up on top. As the citrus starts to fade, Cannabis moves into secure a spot and shines along with more pine and closes with a bite and with the return of citrus
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and lightly dry on the finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. A tasty WCIPA that brings a unique and delicious hop combo to the table along with a more old-school feel throughout. Well-constructed and hard to find a flaw, unless the flavors/aromas aren’t up your alley, so was glad I scored the last 4pk of this when I saw it. Recommended

Canned 15 May, purchased at New Seasons.

A clear copper with a dense white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is classic Block 15. Citrus with a little pine, there's orange, tangerine, a little grapefruit and some pine, a little chalky and a little sweet with a touch of caramel. Similarly so on the palate. The classic Block 15 flavor palate is present, with moderate bitterness, pleasant flavor and some chalky, rough mouthfeel. Moderately sweet on the mid palate with creamy carbonation, this beer finishes with lots on citrus and juice on the back end with some pine. The roughness of the palate does get to be a little distracting but otherwise, this is a solid beer.
