Pours a clear orange-tinted amber with plenty of foam in the Brigand chalice. Lush mouthfeel with sweet malt and spritz on the tongue. Intense aroma of resins and grapefruit peel. Tastes of citrus with a fruity note and dank finish. Overall this is a pleasant big hoppy brew with clean flavors and plenty of aromatics. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 03/24/22.

16oz can from Tavour. Clear, dark golden pour, thick persistent white rocky head. Light tropical, fruity aroma. Taste is malty, bready, tropical fruit notes with a touch of bitter hoppiness. Light caramel and sweetness. Full mouthfeel.

DAB LAB Pacific Resin from Block 15 Brewing. Received from woemad in NBS BIF #15. Stored at 40 degrees after receiving. Reviewed 20/05/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 46.9 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 54.8 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), clear.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear. When rear-lite, same with marked effervescence.
Head – Average (Maximum 3.5 cm, aggressive center pour), white smoke, medium density, short retention, rapidly diminishing to an extremely irregular 0.5 to 2.3 cm crown and a complete rocky cap. As the head retracts, many small islands of lacing remain on the glass.
Lacing – Good. Irregular wide bands of tiny to small bubbles remain, with stalactites and thin columns connecting the bands. See also above.
Aroma – 4 – Dank and earthy with a hint of malt. No yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Starts medium bitter and resinous with a bit of malt. Other than the resinous bits, no pine found. No yeast. No ethanol (8.6 % ABV as marked on label) taste or aroma. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends with a bitter aftertaste.
Palate – 4 – Medium to full, creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal container) Distinctly resinous and earthy rather than the piney/citrusy west coast expectation. Damn good! Thanks Fred!

Canned 3/24. Light haze pour. Thin-ish head, low aroma. The dank, earthy herb taste makes up for those. Pleasant dryness, body is light at the same time very full hop flavors. A hefty 8.6% ABV is extraordinarily well -hidden. A very different - in a good way , mind you - take on a NEIPA.
The DAB Lab continues to delight.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a fine three finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney hops, grapefruit, pine, lemon and a bit of dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus, dank and piney hops, orange, pine, light mixed tropical fruit; earthy and dank. Solid alpha oil bitterness in finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. This was an interesting IPA. When I first poured, it looked turbid and moderately hazy, but then cleared up to a slight haziness in a few minutes. Aroma was a bit subdued, but had the promised West Coast citrus and pine elements at the fore, but with a little dankness too. Flavor is unique, pairing the classic WC hop profile with some dankness and mild mixed tropical fruit of well dry hopped hazy IPAs. When an IPA has a sturdy bitterness, I can start to understand the appeal of the hazy IPAs with lots of herbal hop flavors. Not a traditional West Coast, more of a mixture with hazy and dank styles, but really flavorful and satisfying. I'm a big fan of this series.

1 PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours hazy and amber. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves decent lacing.
The smell is medicinal, earthy, and pine.
It has kind of a sweet start. Then I get some citrus and medicinal flavors. It is earthy with a light pine finish.
Medium bodied with smooth mouthfeel
This is a decent beer. I don't think I'd rush out to buy a case of it.
