Pint at Westside Taphouse West Salem OR.
$6.00
Pours a slightly chill hazed light golden body..small wispy off white head.
Nice slightly sour and earthy fruit aromas .
Great taste..on the mellow borders of sour with a nice earth rhubarb stalk "fruitiness" about it..
Lovely crisp and semi dry mouth feel.
Extreme drinkability

Slight haze on the amber brew with plenty of foam in the Stella Artois goblet. Just slightly tart, and even some malty sweetness to start. They must have been sparing of the Lactobacillus, thankfully. There's a taste of salt but I don't taste much of the strawberry and rhubarb it's supposed to be brewed with. Aroma is faint cereal but at least not vinegary.
This is actually a nice surprise for being in the Berlinerweiss realm. Moe sourness would not have helped this. There's a hint of the Hefeweizen flavors but not much. More fruit flavor would have made this memorable. Refreshing, I guess, is the verdict. From the 16 oz can purchased at John's Marketplace.
