Clear black with red highlights. Three fingers of tan head. Rings of lace appear as the head drops.
Smell is roasted malts and some herbal hops.
Taste is molasses and roasted malts some herbal hop bitterness at the end.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. The finish is rich and balanced.
Overall a tasty doppelbock. Date 06-02-22.

Pours a very dark brown with a two finger khaki head that sticks around. Aroma and taste are very similar, although the aroma is a bit more dark fruit and less roast/peat. Getting fresh, crusty brown bread, biscuit, some caramel and burnt sugar, slight black cherry, some raisin, cocoa powder, peat, spicy hops. Pretty full body. Creamy, silky, smooth. Not very familiar with the style, but this one has peaked my interest in the style and bocks in general. Tasty stuff.

Look: Dark brown and almost black in the glass with a lovely tan head that erupts on the pour and holds as a pillow, slowly settling and leaving sticky lacing behind
Aroma: Warm brown bread, caramel, some dried dark fruit, melanoidin, wafts of earthy and spicy hops, and toffee
Taste: Rich caramel and bread join forces on the opening and develop nicely as earthy and spicy hops follow closely behind and intertwine well. Dark fruit becomes prominent once the bready malt pulls back some along with toffee and melanoidin
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, very clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish with no detectable ethanol heat
Overall: This is tasty stuff. I love a good Doppelbock and this is a fine example of one and checks all the appropriate style boxes for me. Malty, sweet – but not too much so, plenty of caramel, dark fruit notes, and subtle hops all in a clean, smooth, and soft package that hides the 8.3% well. Delicious and recommended

Can from Market of Choice
A very dark brown with a dense, brown head. The nose leans more heavily on the caramel/brown sugar / burnt sugar notes with the bready and doughy notes playing second fiddle. Very clean with the alcohol well hidden. The palate has these flavors, and while a little less bready than I'd like, it's still a very good example for the style.

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a medium to dark orange-red with a fine, two finger khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dry biscuit malt, light molasses, brown bread and a touch of caramel. Flavor is dark biscuit malt with a hint of char, brown bread, molasses, dates and raisins. Lingering raisin bread finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A fine domestic doppelbock that tastes quite authentic if a touch sweet. The malt is spot-on continental and there are mild dark fruit notes that almost are reminiscent of a Baltic porter, but restrained enough to fit the style. It's been way too long since I've had a doppelbock and this hit the spot. Nicely done, this brewery rocks.
