Dark Farmhouse Ale matured in oak barrels with tart cherries.

A wicked offering, this dark ruby-colored wild farmhouse features a rustic grit and is matured in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels with wild yeast and local tart cherries. Bottled year 2022.

Dark red-brown brew with abundant foam in the Het Kapittel chalice. Fruity and woody aroma with an acidic whiff. Taste is very tart, but not quite sour. The cherries add an intriguing bit of fruit flavor. The finish is extremely dark and woody. More astringent and acidic than bitter. Complex funky murky flavors. Interesting and sippable, but would appeal to the Wild ale enthusiast. For me, blending it with a dark sweet Belgian would be the way to go.

The older version, "The Demon's Farm," was stronger and included Bourbon barrel aging. This Block 15 Cellars version was bottled in 2022. From the 750 ml bottle purchased for 18 bucks from Garden Path at Skagit County Airport.
