A: Pours dark with medium head of light tan with little retention. Very dark brew.
S: Cocoa in spades. Not chocolate, but sweet cocoa. That's about it. Hardly unpleasant though.
T: Dry cocoa. Not much sweetness to the chocolate aromas and not much else. Maybe some fruit in there...
M: Decently average. Soft and silky with decent carbonation to wash it down.
O: Nothing wrong here, but nothing to distinguish it. For a Belgian yeast fermented beer I was expecting something completely different. That character just isn't here, so it's knocked a bit. As a whole however, the beer is solid. Not what was expected, and that hurts the score, but hell, I bought a 1L growler of it because it's a solid drinkable if unexciting brew.
