Look: Pitch black with a silky light brown head that fluffs to a pillow and slowly recedes, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Dark chocolate, roast, bakers cocoa, wafts of coffee, light earthiness, and some brown sugar
Taste: Chocolate and a whole lot of it jump start the journey and begin developing depth as waves of roast, coffee, and cocoa weave in and join. Earthiness is evident throughout but chocolate and roast are the stars until earthy notes close it out
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, clean, medium-high carbonation, and moderately dry on the finish
Overall: This is some good stuff. I try everything that these folks make and was drawn to this by the name as it’s a good movie and further because it’s a chocolate porter. It’s a well-made and tasty one with plenty of roast and chocolate but also has a robust feel and finishes with some dryness, which I also dig
