Review based solely on attending the Nineteen release. Big line ran smoothly, lots of beers on tap, great music, enough space to move around (unlike previous years I was told) and friendly people.

Went there for the 19 release party and had a great time. Lines moved pretty quick. Easy to get bottles. Easy to get tap beers. Great prices all around. Definitely a fun party and I hope to go back!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon after xc skiing at the Iola Winter Sports Club. The drive from Iola to Amherst was absolutely beautiful with all the recent snow fall. Nice crowd when we arrived around 1:30 with only a few bar stools open. Atmosphere is nice - nothing more / nothing less. Our server was extremely nice and poured my wife a couple of n/c small samples. Tap list had a ton of beers available - both year round and specialty. I started with a HHG which is my favorite year round offering. Finished with a 12 oz pour of BBBW - I am going to be buying multiple 4-packs of this year's release as this was fantastic. My wife had two glasses of BBS which tasted odd to me - soy and root beer flavors really stood out. Overall this is a great stop if you're in central WI.

Tours are Fri-Sunday during business hours which are 10-3. We came on a Thursday but still got to get a couple crowlers and chat a bit. Nice staff, typical cement floored brewery but a few decorations on the walls. Chill atmosphere with some cool paintings. Snifters are $5, Tumblers are $3, and they have their limiteds on tap for sample and growler/crowler fills. Good pricing, the barrel aged were $16 and $11 respectively. I'd like to visit again during a tour!

Way out in south central WI. The brewery sits by itself out in the country, but when you get there it is an oasis after the drive many of us have. its rustic and modern at the same time outdoor seating and an open floor plan inside. Brewery . swag with bottle sales and growlers available and had a dozen or so taps available, the BA brews that this brewery produces makes me make the drive to this destination. When they have/brew a BA release i will go.

Nothing fancy here. Just beer. Central Waters beer. One of the best barrel-aged programs around. Very busy the day we were there. I'd go back on a heartbeat. No food offered.

Maybe I am biased because it is my hometown, but these guys are awesome! Great selection, excellent flavors, and creativity as well. You can tell they enjoy the craft. Shine On is a favorite for anytime.

One of the better breweries in Wisconsin. May be a bit of a drive depending where you are coming from, but totally worth the stop. In my humble opinion, some of the best barrel aged beers in the business; and their shelf offering are nothing to sneeze at either. Always look forward to a visit here.

Mellow, locals vibe with outdoor seating (weather permitting). Taproom is rather small and does get packed weekends. Quality is ... erratic. We all know that Central Waters makes some excellent dark beers - from Brewhouse Coffee & Space Ghost up to the Reserve Series and Black Gold - but the quality of their everyday product doesn't reach that level. It's all solid, well made beer, but not outstanding in class like the specialties. Thankfully, they always have specialties on draft. Service is friendly and they do a good job moving through the crowds.

I have made 2 stops here and the service has been great. Both times I was able to talk to a couple of the brewers and get my questions answered. Thanks for the 17!

This review is based on my experience at 17 Anniversary Party.
I know this completely different than going on a normal day.

The event was well organized. I got in and got my allotment of 17 anniversary beer in a matter of minutes.

The food was exceptional. I do wish the 16 would have lasted longer on tap.

This review is based on the 17 Anniversary Party on 1/24/15.
We were fortunate enough to have VIP tickets and we arrived at noon to find a fairly short line. We were ushered in, went through a quick ID check and I had a beer in my hand in moments. The selection and quality of the beers available was stellar and the service was top-notch.
The event was extremely well run and it was a breeze to purchase the anniversary beer. Nothing but impressed by the staff, the brewers and all involved. Amazing.

This is based of their 17th Anniversary Party... I know it's not like that every Saturday night but if your ever get a chance to visit do it, and if you can make the Anniversary party it's worth it. Pretty awesome to be able to drink Sixteen & Seventeen side by side on tap! Also, their other barrel offerings our top notch as well! They have several!

Was here for the 17th Anniversary party, which was an absolute blast. Definitely planning on returning to check out the place minus the thousands of other people.

Great atmosphere to be in the brewery itself and drinking their very good beer. Always a great selection of their brews available. Bottled beer is available to go, as well as growlers. Basically a must visit if you like their beer. The only ding is the service. Often, you'll wait for quite some time for service. Anyways, its not the biggest issue because the beer is fantastic, but its a busy place, they could use another server. Other than that, cheers!

A fun place we stop at once in awhile to fill some growlers. Open only on Friday and Saturday so we usually plan a trip ahead of time. Have also been here for their anniversary parties. It's a fun time but we learned to get there early, cause it can get kind a crazy. Definitely a place to stop at if you're in the area.

Atmosphere - The atmosphere is great for a beer fan, you're basically smack dab in the middle of the brewery, drinking next to the giant fermenters.

Quality - The quality is great, gotta love their barrel aged program! They have made so many world class brews.

Service - The service was great, even during the Sixteen event when they were super swamped with brew fans.

Selection - They have a ton of beers to choose from.

Value - The price is definitely right.

It's a bit out of the way, but if you're passing through the area, you've got to make a stop!

Paul Graham has built one hell of a brewery. I came for the 16th anniversary party and had a blast. I was served at the bar right away. They had amazing food available. And the line for 16 wasn't bad at all. I have waited in line 5hours+ for dark lord and this line was only and hour or so. This is an amazing brewery that is a must see if you are in Wisconsin.

Made the pilgrimage to Central Waters for the 16th Anniversary Party with a group of friends and stayed at a hotel in the Steven's Point area. CW was gracious enough to have shuttle services going to the event every 20 mins so we didn't have to drive (bonus). When we arrived at the event around 2:30 there were already a ton of cars lined up outside and people waiting inline for there allocation of 16, we stopped in the tap room for a few beers (Exodus and a Peruvian Morning for me) before waiting in line.

The line started outside and while I was ill prepared, talking with fellow beer nerds and drinking an amazing beer I was fine with it. Once we got in the tent there were heaters going and it made me forget about the cold all together. Eventually (1.5 hours?) later we got our bottles of 16 and headed back into the brewery to get a few more (a pour of 16, and more Exodus) and watched some great bluegrass.

I was able to get drinks quickly, the people pouring knew what they were talking about and had recommendations. My only gripe was they ran out of bottles of Exodus.. bah what are you going to do.

Selection was basically everything they have. Fresh hop rise, Space Ghost, and more 16 as the night went on. There was a food table in the tent with the line for 16, we did grab some bomb fries, but I should have tried the barley wine bbq pork, doh!

Overall, I had an amazing time. People were complaining about the cold, the wait for 16 and a few other things, but if you've ever been to a beer event you know to relax and have a beer. it will work out. Do that and you'll have a blast. Good People, Amazing beer and a rad brewery. what more could you ask for.

Central Waters Brewing Co. is located on the outskirts of the quaint town of Amherst, WI. The brewery has expanded in the past year but it remains relatively small. Regardless of its size, CW provides an excellent lineup of beers and very hospitable atmosphere. They always have their year-round lineup on tap along with the current seasonal and typically a brewer's reserve brew or 2. The taproom is open on Friday and Saturday 3pm-9 with tours at 5pm. While they don't have a kitchen, they do have some salty snacks available and most importantly, the beer is cheap. CW also throws an anniversary bash in January and hosts other events throughout the year. Their parties are always a blast as they commonly provide limited release beers, food trucks, live music, and free shuttles to hotels. The staff is really outgoing and a fun group of people who go out of their way to make sure that their patrons are treated well. Even though I live 2.5 hours from the brewery, it’s always worth the trip and when I'm driving home, I'm planning my next trip back.

I live in southeastern Wisconsin, where a few of Central Waters beers are available. Recently I visited their brewery on a Friday evening and tried small samples of about eight beers. There were two which were absolutely fantastic: the Coffee Stout and the Bourbon Stout. I had the Coffee Stout again at a restaurant later (bottled) and brought home a growler of it from the brewery (64 oz.) Both of those beers can best be described as delicious! They were both full-bodied, dark, and low in alcohol as is typical of stouts. The Bourbon Stout was available only there, served in the modest sized glasses of the sort that some Belgian beers are served in where I go (Hollander Restaurant in Milwaukee); the flavor was amazing. Two of the most satisfying beers I have ever had.

I also tried the IPA and found it more hoppy than I prefer. Another beer I found a bit watery, compared to the beers from Sprecher in Milwaukee.

It’s local and it’s awesome! We went their as a stop after a regional basketball game and we were all very happy we did the research to find the place. They have a great atmosphere in which they had local live music and most had a love of beer. Going back once a year.

Central Waters brewery is located in the heart of Wisconsin, surrounded by corn fields, and plenty of open space. Amherst is a truly quaint and beautiful town, with the Tomorrow River running right through the heart of town.

The brewery itself is in an industrial looking area, and if you come from Hwy 10, you will see their beautiful display of solar panels behind the brewery. Righteous!

The tap room is located at the front of the brewery, so all the good stuff is visible to those hanging out enjoying a beer. The tap room is really cool. It screams simple, let the beer speak for itself. A three sided bar that seats about 15-25 people with another 10 or so tables with seating at each. During my most recent visit they had Peruvian Morning and BBBW on tap, and both of them were fantstic! The service was fantastic and the company was amazing.

They do not serve food at CW, and they have extremely limited hours, only open on Friday and Saturday. It's well worth the trip, no matter where you are traveling from.

My wife and I visited the Central Waters Brewing Company in August.

They have a sampler(6) in which you can choose the beers you want to taste and I beleive they had 10 differnt beers to choose from when we were there. It is in a small business park but the tap room is right in the brewery so it gave it a unique feel. It had no food.

It is well worth the visit if you are in Central Wisconsin but be warned the place gets crowded quickly after the doors open which is only on Friday and Saturday.

I went to school in Point and went here quite often. Great little taproom in the middle of the brewery. All the people are very nice, and service is excellent. They are only open Fridays and Saturdays, and they often have some local musicians playing some live music. Great atmosphere.

There is no food besides your basic bag of chips and what not, but they encourage you to bring your own (pizza or w/e).

They always have their usual lineup on tap, plus nitro mudpuppy and some specialty offerings which usually include one or two barrel aged beers (all beers are cw beers though, but why go to their brewery to drink other people's beers).

All beers are 3.50, and the regular lineup you get a pint, while the specialties (at least the BA goodness) you get 12 oz usually in a cw tulip.

They also sell beer to go and they fill growlers. I would definitely recommend visiting, you won't regret it!
