a simple pale wheat here done with strawberry, really good, not too sweet, and more natural smelling and tasting than expected. super cool spot here too, lovely out on their deck, a nice summer sipper that followed a trip to the beach quite expertly. this style tends to make me nervous, almost always inauthentic and overly fruited, with more or less a throwaway base beer, but this is fresh and pleasant and still wheat forward, with the fruit coming on genuine and accenting an already good base brew very well, uncommon in that way. a slight pink starburst thing to the strawberry, but also a little welcomed tang, not sugary at any point. very little color from the strawberry but not nothing, good haze as belongs in a wheat beer but not messy looking, average white head and well carbonated. lightly floral in the nose, a light bubblegum element too, trace vanilla and honey. earthy though too, dry on the grain side, not much from the yeast, tidy in its work, refreshing and definitely a pint beer thanks to it being restrained in the right ways, and nice and fresh and lively. overall an impressive little fruited wheat, well above the average for the style, and ideal after our time on the beach. glad we had time to check this place out, super chill vibes and solid beers!
