Truncated review from a 50cl can in Kuopio, Finland:
A: Pours a healthy albeit fizzy head of off-white colour. Recedes fully within ~2 minutes, leaving no lacing.
Body colour is an opaque dark brown-black. Not vibrant. I see no yeast or sediment within.
Appears adequately carbonated. Not a unique or special appearance for a dark lager.
Sm: Dry juniper berry-like bitterness. Yeah - it's definitely juniper. Vague malts; they could easily be bright or dark - and that ambiguity is a problem. Has no interesting hop notes.
The malts are anything but expressive, and that's a huge issue in a dark lager. This offers nothing of interest, but the clean lager yeast is appropriate.
Aromatic intensity is average, but this suggests a somewhat bland brew.
T: Juniper berry. Vague inexpressive dark malts with hints of brown bread. That's it.
This is about as shallow and simple as they come, if not muted. Unbalanced (too sweet) and uninteresting, with no remarkable characteristics whatsoever. Why brew this?
Mf: Smooth, wet, blatantly overcarbonated, ineptly medium-bodied (when it should be light), and unrefreshing. Not a good companion to the taste.
O: Calling it drinkable is something of a kindness. Not a gestalt beer, and not a brew that will interest the discerning drinker. More forgettable schlock from Finland's worst brewery. I definitely wouldn't trifle with this nonsense again.
