Got it in a takeout can at Mother Tree in Osaka. Intrigued but ultimately a little letdown.
A- Clear, bubbly, almost not head to speak off
S- the sake yeast is prominent. Smelled like a sake on the sweeter side.
T- followed the nose. If anyone has had the pleasure/misfortune depending, it tasted almost identical to Korean 소맥 (soju and beer mixed) but slightly more pleasant because sake is smoother and less awful than soju.
Mouthfeel- mildly crisp. Think of a normal rice lager toned down 30%
Overall-Happy I tried it, and I think there’s something to a sake yeast ale. However, this tastes a bit too much like someone poured a shot of sake into your Sapporo pint. Could do with a bit lore harmony.
