On-tap at Hot Shots Bar & Grill in Rochester, NY.
Orange-gold body with a one-finger head. Smells a little citrusy and hoppy. Great IPA flavor, well balanced bitterness with floral and hops flavors. Smooth finish with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
This is a very solid IPA, I'm impressed. No off-flavors like you might find in some cheaper IPAs like Saranac. Tastes great off the tap, just don't make my mistake of ordering this with a spicy burrito. Live and learn... and drink some more.

Sampled off the hopper, pre-batch, thank you brewmaster Jim McDermott. Enjoyed with John and Murtyman. And they enjoyed several good hop fixes. IBU 44 yet good bitter hop lead. Called an American double IPA yet a bitter according to Jim and I agree. Good citrus hop aroma that will disappear by the time it's poured through the taps.

Draught @ the brewery: Well, this beer was a bit better than some of the other offerings that they had here. The color was somewhat orangish. It had minimal white head and a little bit of lacing. The aroma was good, but a little weak for an IPA. There were some pine and floral notes. The taste was a bit hoppy, with a bit of a dry aftertaste. Just rates an OK.

A damn good IPA from the folks at Rohrback. A nice hazy light amber colour with a nice head of off-white foam that lasted for quite a while. The aromas of this brew were all Fresh hops, floral and citrusy all at once. The taste was hoppy up front, sweet and malty in the middle, and dry and hoppy once more in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and the drinkability is very, very good. Impressive.

Like most cask conditioned ales, this one has the characteristic smooth, less bubbly mouthfeel that allows the drinker to linger with the ale and let it work its magic, which is exactly what the "X" does. It poured a dark amber--little head of course--and it had a nice sublty smoked hoppiness to the nose, balanced with some nutty malts that I don't often get in American IPAs. The taste was packed but for the most part coherent with the many different facets that were in the aroma: hops, malts, and piney citrus.

On tap at Raging Burrito, I guess I could call this interesting, to say the least.
A hazy amber/copper colour with a moderate head. The aroma was piney and slightly citric. The taste was complex with strong hops and a strong malt presence. But at the same time, it has a mediciney taste that wasn't all too apealing. But in all, it is a good attempt to come out with something better. It will evolve into something great, I'm sure.

X for extra. As in extra everything. Hops, malt, yeast, you name it its got more than most. Depspite the myriad of extras its still pretty damn good. Pours a deep russet with trails of copper. Smell was pretty piney without much definition. The taste, however, was bursting with flavors. A serious amount of pine needles couple with a pretty strong malt backbone and a very interesting bready finish due to the yeast. The hops were dominant in the taste and favored the piney, resinous flavor rather than a more creamy citrus flavor. All in all a good tasty beer, but be careful it will destroy your taste buds.
