Flaherty's Irish Ale is a pretty clear, very pale straw colored ale with a thin white, bubbly head with some OK retention. There really isn't any aroma... maybe a slight fruity note. It's thin, watery and flat in the mouth. The finish is watery. It's lightly bittered with something noble and it provides the aftertaste. (I think this is actually Liberty). This is very light fare. It's the BlueBeary without the blueberry.

In offensive, which is not really what you drink beer for. Not to be offended, but you want the beer to be distinctive and make some kind of statement. Iron City (unless drank within 30 minutes of the brewery) is swill and there is no doubting. This Irish Ale won't make you proud to be drinking Irish beer this St. Patty's Day. You would at least like to remember the beer that gave you that splitting headache on Wednesday morning. This beer ain't the one.

The Flaherty's is a typcial Red Irish Ale. This beer reminds me of the pints of Smithwick's Irish Ale (on-tap) that I tasted at Coleman's Irish Pub in Syracuse. The Flaherty's has a nice tatse and finish. I like the Flaherty's much more than Rohrbach's McDermott's Irish Ale offering.

Some taste of malt, carmel, overcarbonated and thin. No appearance nor aroma. Didn't quite work as an Irish, but they tried and here are the kegs still. Sampling with jim McDermott brewmaster and John and Murtyman. Last of regular lineup available and they were almopst reluctan to let me try it.

Draught @ the Rohrbach Brewery: This beer pours a very pale, golden color. There was almost no head on it with almost no lacing either. The aroma was fairly thin. It was slightly floral, with a hint of malt sweetness. The taste is fairly buttery up front, with a hint of some malts. Some light sweetness in the aftertaste. This doesnt taste much like an Irish Ale. I think they were going for something like Caffreys, but that nasty buttery taste ruins it. Hard to finish.
