I reviewed this brew on a napkin from a visit on 1-21-2010.
A: Light copper in color with low head retention and little in the way of lacing.
S: Bouquet is well presented and complex. Pine, citrus and flower all come through well.
T: Off-dry with a ton of hops. Pine and citrus dominate with flowers in the finish.
M: medium to light in body woth little else.
D: A decent DIPA, but definitely has room for improvemet. It was stuck in limbo between a malty IPA and a dry one. The body was too heavy to be refreshing, but too thin to be indulgent. The hops were a little clashing as well. I liked it overall, but if this one is to be brewed again I would hope that they tweak it a little.

Review from notes on 1/14/10, poured from a firkin (cask)
A - hazy golden tangerine with a short lived bubbly white head. Very little lacing. 3.5
S - Very light aromas. Perhaps a hint of grapefruit and light caramel. Not too spectacular here. 3.0
T - mild maltiness, lots and lots of intense bitterness. Lingering bitter aftertaste, I didn't get much else here. Not much pine or citrus, just a bitter explosion. 3.5
M - very creamy and smooth, mild carbonation. 4.0
D - I drank this way too fast. This is probably the best attribute of the beer. 4.5

Rohrbach Double IPA is a slightly hazy golden ale with a dense white head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a fresh, grainy, grassy, floral aroma that's a little fruity. It's medium bodied; smooth and fluffy with a crisp finish. It has a full resiny hop flavor that's nice and bitter with grapefruit peel and pine. The after taste is long and bitter. It's shockingly delicious.
