This rowdier version of our classic Vanilla Porter was brewed to a high-test strength and was aged in Rum barrels for 4 months before cold conditioning on freshly scraped vanilla beans. The end result carries all of the complex chocolate, caramel, and roast malt characteristics that we love in the Vanilla Porter, while the oak barrels add hints of boozy char and coconut.

On tap at Rohrbach Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells pleasantly of vanilla, with caramel, oaky spice, milk chocolate, and roast.
This is a super pleasant update to a Rochester classic. It’s beefier, stronger, and roastier, and feels maybe a bit less artificial, even though I don’t believe the regular Vanilla Porter uses artificial flavors. There’s a touch of barrel, some rum spice, and caramel sweetness, and lots of fudgy chocolate, and a nice roasty and spicy finish.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and very drinkable.
I really enjoyed this one.
